Welcome to Amplitude City
" Dug into the ground, with powerlines strung like nets, lies a sprawling yet cramped city, constantly bustling with in and out traffic. Roads divert into tunnels, leading out to the desert above. "
Amplitude is a large city dug into the sediment of the shifting expanse. It is dragon run, but the majority of the population and regular commerce is made up of various beastclan- the lower altitude and shade provide respite from the desert sun and storms, making it compatible for most if not all types of creature.Amplitude has it's own radio station, run by a ridgeback named Audrey out of her apartment.Amplitude City is heavily technologically advanced, at least for dragon kind. Everything is interwoven with some kind of tech, and a large portion of this tech is used through screens, buttons, and keypads built in to buildings.

the Town of Haven, Haven of the All-seeing Moon
A small, bustling town in the middle of nowhere.Haven of the All-seeing Moon used to be much grander, and located in the starfall isles. An.. emergency situation forced the towns residents to up and move, and less than half made the journey to the towns new home in the shifting expanse.

Robotics Laboratory : owned by Cashmere
Traveller's Trinkets : a small shop run by Clancey.
The Crow's Clinic : run by Axo.
Tea-time Library : run by Oolong
New Moon FM : as well as being one of the best radio stations in the Shifting Expanse, NMFM is home to the one and only entrance to the Haven Archives, a sprawling underground maze filled with treasures and history. It is not as grand as it used to be, but it is still a sight to behold- if you can get in alive, that is.
Hidden Garden Oasis
An expansive, enchanted land hidden away in a desert oasis. While the existence of these gardens is debatable, one thing is for certain between all accounts; it looks small and uninteresting from the outside, but is a maze-like paradise on the inside. The sheer size makes it seem more like a pocket dimension or alternate plane of reality than a feasible space in the expanses.
There is a wide variety of different gardens inside, from shady marshlands to perpetually sunny ruins. The garden oasis was created by an entity by the name of Eucalyptus, who, much like its creation, has a debatable state of existence.
It was said to be made as a safe haven, and the visible outside supports this- any entrances are often blocked by cage-like bramble structures, and outsiders can only be let in by those who already reside there.
Moonlite all-nite Diner
A diner right between Haven and Amplitude that is open 24/7 and is run by a live-in chef by the name of Moonshine. It has a fuel station housing different types of gasoline and other, more "exotic" types of fuel, for vehicles or creatures with gas-powered enhancements. It's a bit shady, especially towards the back where the fuel is held, but nobody has gone missing there [that we know of].One staple of the place is the old radio that gets a clear signal from New Moon FM- and sometimes Amplitude. Another staple is free breakfast on the weekends!
The Weeping Wolf Inn
A lovely stay with creepy, if polite, staff. This inn, located a few miles off haven, doubles as a daycare. Not many willingly leave their children in the middle of nowhere, granted, but there are some eternally youthful dragons that can be found here. As well, any orphans are usually sent here, their stay paid for by whoever drops them off.The Weeping Wolf has a very strict curfew- anyone breaking curfew or wandering into staff only areas will usually receive a ban, or at least be asked to leave once the sun rises. The inn keeper, Maximilion, is as mysterious as they come. A robot with no known origins or fuel source, he is quiet and to the point- he gets his job done well. But, as always, the curfew exists for a reason.
A sanctuary for all beast kind
easily mistakable for a lightning farm at first glance, this sprawling acreage is a respite for creatures of all kinds- though the owners tend to give animals their priority.Co-owned by Rrhexis and Banana-Bread, this sanctuary farms its own power from the storms in the shifting expanse, and so is bordered by a lightning farm.Often, travelers will stop by, treating the place as a hotel or temporary job, as the owners will let them stay as long as they help care for the animals, and help keep the place tidy. Some even seem to have made it their permanent home.
Underground Lab
An old lab, hidden away by rubble...A hatch covered by rubble reveals a path down into the earth, and eventually a lab. It's a bit run-down, but it gets the job done.
The Sparring Grounds
A once abandoned coliseum given new life.Refugees and loners flock here to fight their hearts out and watch others fight. But more than that, it is a home.Established by ARIES - a biomechanical construct once created to protect the Haven of the All-seeing Moon - the sparring grounds is a large coliseum, with homes dug underground. It's far enough out of the way, and inconspicuous enough that it's at least mostly safe- but even if it weren't, the fighters that flock there make sure it is.
Curiosity Cove
An out-of-the-way oddities shop run by oddities themselves. The employees all consist of live-ins that are a bit off, including but not limited to a mimic and a living marionette. The Curiosity Cove is a bit hidden away, resulting in the residents needing to leave, traveling to sell their wares. It works out though- they can easily trade for more things to stock their shelves with that way.
The Railway
The ultimate in-and-out for the general Haven-Amplitude area, this trail station has lines going directly through the city, and sprawling to the borders of the shifting expanse. The train is automated, but maintained by a banescale named Zeroth, who also overviews the main station. Said main station is frequented by an anomalous taxi driver, who will give newcomers either directions or a ride depending on their needs. You don't even need to ask.
